Exclusive Interview: Samyuktha Talks About Her Role in Akhanda 2 and Upcoming Projects
You’ve been one of the busiest actresses in Telugu cinema. How does it feel to be in demand?
Samyuktha: "It feels wonderful to be receiving so many offers. After Virupaksha, I was flooded with roles, but I choose only the projects that connect with me and the audience. I signed Bimbisara, Virupaksha, Sir, and Bheemla Nayak around the same time. Later, I worked on Swayambhu, Naari Naari, and Akhanda 2."
How did you come on board for Akhanda 2?
Samyuktha: "When the director narrated the story, I was immediately intrigued. Despite a tight schedule, I made sure to prioritize this film because Boyapati sir has a grand vision for it. After discussing it with my team, we made adjustments, and I was thrilled to be a part of this project."
What can audiences expect from your role in the film?
Samyuktha: "My character is integral to a crucial sequence and brings a lot of style to the table. I also have a mass song in the movie, which initially made me nervous since I’ve never done such a number before. But I practiced hard, even injuring my knees in the process, because entertaining the audience is my ultimate goal."
What was it like working with Balakrishna?
Samyuktha: "Balakrishna sir is incredibly friendly and down-to-earth. When we first met, it felt like we had known each other for years. He’s a director’s actor and gives 100% to whatever the director asks of him. Working with him was an absolute pleasure, and the experience was extremely comfortable."
There was a viral video from the Vizag event. How did you feel about it?
Samyuktha: "Yes, I saw the memes and saved them! When I showed them to Balakrishna sir, we both had a good laugh. Memes are spontaneous and can’t be forced – they just happen!"
What are your thoughts on Thaman’s music for Akhanda 2?
Samyuktha: "The music is exceptional, and the response has been overwhelming. The soundtrack serves as a tribute to Lord Shiva, and the background score, with Sanskrit lyrics and powerful rhythms, creates a trance-like effect that elevates the film."
Do you have a favorite Balakrishna film?
Samyuktha: "I really enjoyed Daku Maharaj—it’s one of my all-time favorites. It did very well in Kerala too. Of course, Akhanda also stands out for me."
You’ve been doing a lot of mythological roles. Is that intentional?
Samyuktha: "It’s not something I planned. It’s just the way things have happened naturally, and I’m grateful for these opportunities."
Are you spiritual, as people often say?
Samyuktha: "Yes, I am. It’s a deep subject, and I’d need a separate interview just for that topic! (laughs)"
Tell us about the producers of Akhanda 2.
Samyuktha: "Ram sir and Gopi sir are fantastic producers. Their support has been the backbone of this grand project. The way they’ve handled the promotions on a massive scale has been incredible."
What’s your opinion on the Telugu film industry?
Samyuktha: "Telugu audiences are next-level. The way they celebrate films from the first day is amazing. Their support gives us so much confidence and joy."
What can we expect from your upcoming films?
Samyuktha: "In Swayambhu, I have an action-oriented role. In Naari Naari Naduma Murari, my character is very unique and interesting. Working with Puri sir was a great experience too."
Do you have a final message for your fans?
Samyuktha: "I’m incredibly thankful for all the love and support from my fans. I hope Akhanda 2 connects with everyone’s heart, and you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it."
