From Setbacks to Success: Actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda Interview About His Journey and Role in Rambo
What drew you to the role in Rambo?
The character arc was what truly caught my attention. Playing a Brahmin who evolves into a detective or agent was something entirely fresh and unique. It’s a character with humor, intensity, and emotional depth, and that made it an exciting challenge for me as an actor.
After the setbacks of Jack and Telusu Kada, how important is Rambo for your career?
Every actor faces ups and downs, and while Jack and Telusu Kada didn’t perform as expected, those experiences taught me more than any success could. Rambo holds significant importance for me. I truly believe in the script and its potential. It feels like the right project at the right time for my career comeback.
You had projects like Kohinoor and Badass lined up earlier. Why choose Rambo first?
Both Kohinoor and Badass are exciting, but sometimes you have to go with your gut. Rambo felt like a more complete and commercially appealing project. I felt the audience would connect with this character in a way that was both unique and exciting, which made it the right choice to prioritize.
Swaroop RSJ also had a mixed phase after Agent Sai Sreenivas Athreya. How is this collaboration shaping up?
Swaroop is a brilliant writer and director. Agent Sai Sreenivas Athreya proved his talent for storytelling. We are both highly motivated to make a strong comeback. There’s a shared hunger for success, and that energy is palpable during our discussions. We both want to deliver something exceptional.
What should audiences expect from Rambo?
Rambo offers a smart blend of entertainment with a compelling investigative storyline. It’s not just an action film despite the title. The film has strong characterization, a unique cultural twist, and engaging humor that sets it apart from typical action films.
How significant is Sithara Naga Vamsi’s banner for you?
Sithara has always been a lucky banner for me. DJ Tillu and Tillu Square were massive blockbusters under their production. There's a deep mutual trust, and that confidence always translates onto the screen, making it a great partnership for any project.
Is Rambo more commercial or content-driven?
It strikes a perfect balance. Rambo has commercial appeal but is deeply rooted in strong content. The goal is to create a film that satisfies both mass audiences looking for entertainment and those who appreciate intelligent storytelling.
