Ajay Bhupathi Interview: Mahesh Babu Loved Srinivasa Mangapuram

Ajay Bhupathi Interview: Mahesh Babu Loved Srinivasa Mangapuram

What can audiences expect from Srinivasa Mangapuram?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Srinivasa Mangapuram is a complete love story packed with intense emotions and family entertainment. While the story is fictional, I have incorporated a few scenes inspired by real-life incidents, making the narrative more relatable. The film features a beautiful love story, powerful emotions and memorable characters. Mohan Babu plays a key role, and Naresh's character will also entertain audiences. We shot the film entirely at real locations, giving it a natural and authentic feel. The visuals, songs, sound design and background score have all turned out exceptionally well. I am 100 percent confident that audiences will love the theatrical experience.

What makes this love story different?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Every love story starts with a boy and a girl falling in love. The difference lies in how the story is told. I strongly believe the treatment of every scene in Srinivasa Mangapuram is fresh and engaging. Once the audience enters the world of the film, they will become emotionally invested in the characters. There isn't a single dull moment, and the chemistry between Jai Krishna and Rasha Thadani will be one of the film's biggest highlights.

How did Jai Krishna and Rasha Thadani perform?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Jai Krishna has an outstanding screen presence, and audiences will be pleasantly surprised when they watch him on the big screen. He carries his own style and personality while delivering a confident performance. Rasha Thadani has also done an excellent job and worked with great sincerity throughout the shoot. Together, they have wonderful chemistry, and I believe audiences will thoroughly enjoy watching them.

How did the journey of Srinivasa Mangapuram begin?
Ajay Bhupathi:
I was supposed to make a film for producer Gemini Kiran. When this story was ready, I met Ashwini Dutt garu and discussed the project with him. Later, I met Jai Krishna several times. Once I became confident about his abilities and dedication, we officially began the film.

Was there pressure in introducing a hero from Krishna's family?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Initially, I never thought about the pressure. I always make films in my own style, and the family gave me complete creative freedom. As I spent more time with Jai Krishna, I became emotionally attached to the project. I have always admired Superstar Krishna and understand his incredible legacy. Jai Krishna impressed me both personally and professionally, so I took special care in shaping every aspect of his debut. I believe Krishna garu's blessings are always with us.

Why did you choose the title Srinivasa Mangapuram?
Ajay Bhupathi:
I wrote the story with this title from the very beginning. Every element of the film, including the story, characters, locations and love story, perfectly justifies the title. It is not just a name but an important part of the film's identity, and I believe it adds great value to the overall narrative.

What can audiences expect from Mohan Babu's role?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Mohan Babu garu plays one of the most emotional characters of his career. I believe audiences haven't seen him perform such an emotionally powerful role in nearly two decades. His screen presence is extraordinary, and the emotional scenes involving Mohan Babu, Jai Krishna and Rasha Thadani will deeply touch audiences.

Mahesh Babu watched the film. What was his reaction?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Mahesh Babu garu watched the film and sent me a message saying, "It's fantastic." He especially appreciated Jai Krishna and Rasha Thadani's chemistry. He also praised the songs, action sequences and the overall presentation of the film. Receiving such appreciation from Mahesh Babu gave our entire team immense confidence and happiness.

How emotional is the film?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Emotion is one of the strongest pillars of Srinivasa Mangapuram. I strongly believe the final thirty minutes will leave audiences deeply moved. The emotional journey shared by Jai Krishna, Mohan Babu and Rasha Thadani will connect with viewers on a personal level. Along with strong emotions, the film offers romance, songs, action and all the commercial ingredients audiences expect.

Tell us about the shooting experience.
Ajay Bhupathi:
We travelled across several beautiful locations to shoot this film. We filmed extensively in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, making it one of the first South Indian films to shoot there. We also filmed in Ballari, Tirupati, Munnar and Hyderabad. Every location adds freshness to the visuals. Although shooting in some places was challenging, our producers supported us without compromising on quality.

Were there any challenges while filming in Tirupati?
Ajay Bhupathi:
We respected all the rules and regulations around the sacred Tirumala region. The story also explores the social life of Tirupati as a regular town, where different groups and communities coexist. Everything shown in the film has been handled responsibly, and we faced no objections during the shoot.

How did Jai Krishna evolve during the making of the film?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Jai Krishna is naturally shy and introverted. Like Mahesh Babu, he has a wonderful sense of humour. Many people who watched the trailer felt he resembles Mahesh Babu, which is natural given the family legacy. However, Jai Krishna also has his own unique style and identity, which audiences will clearly notice once they watch the complete film.

How was it working with two newcomers?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Rasha Thadani worked with tremendous sincerity and dedication. She is passionate about proving herself as an actress. After RX 100, I had decided not to work with newcomers again, but this project completely changed my opinion. Working with Jai Krishna and Rasha was a wonderful experience, and I also learned many valuable things from both of them.

Is there any surprise element in the film?
Ajay Bhupathi:
The biggest surprise will be the chemistry between Jai Krishna and Rasha Thadani. Audiences will never feel they are watching two debut actors. Every time I make a film, my goal is to deliver my best work, and I believe Srinivasa Mangapuram will stand among my finest commercial entertainers.

Where do you get inspiration for your stories?
Ajay Bhupathi:
I spend a lot of time interacting with people and observing society. Most of my stories are inspired by real people, real emotions and everyday life. Every character I create comes from something I have personally observed.

Where do you see Srinivasa Mangapuram in your career?
Ajay Bhupathi:
Every filmmaker hopes that their latest film becomes their best work, and I feel the same way. I sincerely hope Srinivasa Mangapuram earns the top place in my filmography. I believe family audiences will leave theatres with satisfaction after enjoying its songs, action, emotions and memorable characters.

Prabhas also appreciated the film. How did that feel?
Ajay Bhupathi:
I felt extremely happy. Prabhas garu has always encouraged good cinema and supported fellow filmmakers. He is a genuinely kind person, and his encouragement means a lot to our entire team. I will definitely meet him and thank him personally.

What can audiences expect from Mangalavaaram 2?
Ajay Bhupathi:
I cannot reveal much about Mangalavaaram 2 right now. However, I can promise audiences that the sequel will feature powerful characters, unexpected twists and several goosebump-inducing moments. It will be a film that surprises everyone.

Any final message for the audience?
Ajay Bhupathi:
I sincerely thank everyone for the love and support shown to Srinivasa Mangapuram. I am confident that audiences of all age groups, especially families and youngsters, will enjoy this emotional entertainer. I hope everyone watches the film in theatres and leaves with a memorable cinematic experience.
