What made you say yes to the film?
Srinidhi Shetty: I had always wanted to work with Trivikram garu, so receiving a call from him made me very happy. This film also brings together a new genre for both him and Venkatesh garu. After hearing the story, I felt it was different from Trivikram garu’s previous films and knew I wanted to be part of it.
I play a mother, but I never considered turning down the offer. Characters and films like this are rare, and being part of a project with Trivikram garu and Venkatesh garu is a privilege.
How would you describe your character and the comedy?
Srinidhi Shetty: It is a crime comedy with elements of dark humour. This is my first full-fledged comedy role. My character loses money in a chit fund scheme and gets into debt.
I initially wondered how I would handle a role like this, since it was new for me. After watching the final output, I felt very satisfied with my performance.
What was it like delivering Trivikram’s dialogues?
Srinidhi Shetty: His dialogues have depth, so I tried to understand the meaning behind each one before delivering it. The film has many memorable lines, and his writing shines throughout.
The line in the trailer, “What is the war that can be won without an army dying, sir?” especially impressed me. I loved it, and I think audiences will enjoy it too.
Were you disappointed when the release was postponed?
Srinidhi Shetty: When a team has worked on a film for nearly a year and a half, taking more time to improve the final output can be better than rushing the release. Producer Naga Vamsi garu explained the same reasoning.
The film’s release moved from October 9 to October 30. I feel the additional three weeks helped make the film better.
Why do you do relatively few films?
Srinidhi Shetty: I choose projects based on their content and whether the stories appeal to me. I chose Aadarsha Kutumbam because I genuinely liked it.
The large-scale films I work on can take a year or two to complete, which may make it seem like I am doing fewer films. I joined this film’s sets in July 2025, and more than a year has passed since then.
Did you try to match Venkatesh’s performance?
Srinidhi Shetty: Venkatesh garu is an extraordinary actor with wonderful comic timing and a strong touch in emotional scenes. Matching him is difficult, but I made an honest effort. With Trivikram garu’s guidance, I tried to keep my comedy natural and find the right rhythm alongside Venkatesh garu’s performance.
Have you watched the film? What did you think?
Srinidhi Shetty: Yes, I watched it recently and liked it a lot. I enjoyed working on the sets, but seeing the completed film made me even happier.
Does the film balance comedy and action?
Srinidhi Shetty: There is more comedy in the film. You will have to watch it to see how much action it has. I think audiences will enjoy the action sequences as well as the humour.
What is your impression of Trivikram?
Srinidhi Shetty: I knew he was a talented director, but meeting him personally also showed me what a thoughtful person he is. He listens to ideas and discusses them for the good of the film. He also creates a positive atmosphere on set and makes actors feel comfortable.
How was your experience with Haarika & Hassine Creations?
Srinidhi Shetty: I am very happy to have worked with the banner. The team is supportive of actors and everyone involved in the film. The journey, which has continued for more than a year, has been a wonderful experience. I hope to work with them again.
What are your upcoming projects?
Srinidhi Shetty: I am currently working on a Kannada film, and a few Telugu projects are in discussion.
