How Is Your Role Going To Be In Nagabandham?
Nabha Natesh: I have never played a role like this before. In Nagabandham, I will be seen as Parvathi, a Vedic student. Her character is emotionally very strong. She is someone who can go to any extent for her family and for love. My role is very important to the story. Every decision Parvathi takes has an impact on the narrative. I strongly believe audiences will be surprised when they watch my character on screen.
There Is A Grand Dance Number In The Film. Can You Tell Us About It?
Nabha Natesh: Doing that song was truly a wonderful experience. The song was choreographed by Ganesh Acharya master with nearly 5,000 dancers. It also includes classical dance elements, and I am sure it will look spectacular on the big screen.
Technically, filming such a song on such a huge canvas was a challenge. It is not just a dance number; the director and choreographer wanted the song to carry a devotional feel as well. The set created for the song looked like a grand festive celebration.
During the shoot, it felt as if we were in Brindavan, where all the Gopikas were celebrating together with joy. The art direction was outstanding. The Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple set created for the film gives a real feeling of entering a temple. Everyone who saw the set was amazed, and I am sure the visuals will mesmerise audiences.
What Would You Say About Director Abhishek Nama?
Nabha Natesh: Abhishek Nama has a very clear vision. He imagined this story on a huge scale and worked with great attention to detail. From costumes to hairstyles, every small aspect was carefully designed. When he narrated the story to me, I was completely mesmerised. He had prepared storyboards for every scene. He had already sketched out the actions and reactions of every character. His pre-production work was excellent.
Even during the shoot, he executed every scene beautifully. I really have to appreciate his vision. Just like the audience, I am also eagerly waiting to watch this film on the big screen. For my character, it used to take almost two hours to get ready. The team paid a lot of attention to every costume. I enjoyed the entire shooting process. Opportunities to be part of such films do not come very often.
Nearly ten huge sets were built for this film, and each set is different from the other. As an actor, working in such a massive film was a great experience. Along with the song Namore, I also performed in another folk number. Both songs will look visually grand. While shooting inside the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple set, we followed strict discipline. We all remained completely vegetarian during that schedule. A priest was also appointed, and the shoot would begin every day only after performing pooja.
Does Your Character Have Romance In The Film?
Nabha Natesh: Yes, there is romance. But more than romance, there are many important layers in my character. Those elements bring key turning points to the story. Audiences will definitely be surprised. I play a role that adds strength to the story. It is completely different from the characters I have done so far, and I feel very proud to have played this role.
What Would You Say About The Producers?
Nabha Natesh: Even though this is their first film, the producers made Nagabandham on a grand scale with strong belief in the content. The film has been made with a huge budget of around Rs 110 crore. They did not compromise on anything and supported the story in every possible way.
The promotions are also being done in a very unique manner. The idea of the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Rath Yatra is very special. Thousands of devotees are taking part in the yatra, and the response has been amazing. For a debut production, making and promoting a film on this scale is not an ordinary thing. The VFX work in the film also feels new and realistic. Everyone is already appreciating the VFX, and the final output has come out wonderfully.
How Was It Working With Virat Karrna?
Nabha Natesh: Virat Karrna is a very passionate and dedicated actor. It does not feel like this is only his second film. He performed like a very experienced actor. He worked very hard for this film, and that effort will be clearly visible on screen. Working with Virat was a very good experience.
What Would You Say About DOP Soundar Rajan?
Nabha Natesh: Soundar Rajan has given outstanding visuals for the film. He is a very energetic person, and his work will surprise audiences. Every frame in the film has been designed to be mesmerising. I believe the visuals will be one of the biggest highlights of Nagabandham.
Why Did You Not Do Films Quickly After iSmart Shankar?
Nabha Natesh: I had a small accident, and because of that, I suffered a shoulder injury. I had to take a break for almost one and a half years. I believe an actor should do films only when they are physically and mentally strong. Only when I appear energetic on screen can I do justice to a role. That is why I started acting again only after I completely recovered.
How Was Your Shooting Experience For Nagabandham?
Nabha Natesh: Nagabandham is a film made on a very big scale. Every day, there were nearly 200 people on set. With every schedule, the scale of the film kept getting bigger. This film taught me that with strong teamwork, anything can be achieved. It was a memorable and satisfying experience for me as an actor.
You Are Also Playing A Key Role In Swayambhu, Right?
Nabha Natesh: Yes. I am very happy to be part of two big films like Nagabandham and Swayambhu. Both films are made for audiences across the country and around the world. Being part of such large-scale projects gives me great pride and satisfaction as an actor.
All The Best
Nabha Natesh: Thank you.
