Hey Bhagavan Exclusive Interview: Producer Vamsi Nandipati Shares Film Insights

What kind of film is “Hey Bhagavan”?
Producer Vamsi Nandipati: Hey Bhagavan is a complete entertainer filled with fun and emotional moments. I have been associated with this project right from the story stage and I am also presenting it. The film has a unique business-related element which plays an important role in helping a son understand his father emotionally. It will make audiences laugh while also touching their hearts.

Why was the business element highlighted in the teaser and trailer?
Producer Vamsi Nandipati: We intentionally highlighted that aspect to create curiosity among audiences. It builds intrigue and encourages viewers to think about its importance. However, the real meaning and impact of that business element will be revealed only when people watch the film.

What is the reason behind the title “Hey Bhagavan”? Will it change?
Producer Vamsi Nandipati: The title comes from the father character’s name, Bhagavan. However, the censor board has raised concerns about the sensitivity of the title. We are currently discussing it, and there is a possibility that the title may be changed to ‘Hey Bhavan.’ A final decision will be made soon.

How important is this film for Suhas’ career?
Producer Vamsi Nandipati: This film will be a major turning point in Suhas’ career. He has been waiting for a strong commercial success, and I strongly believe Hey Bhagavan will become his biggest commercial hit and a milestone film.

What is your strategy as a producer?
Producer Vamsi Nandipati: I see myself more as a creative strategist. I am involved in creative discussions and provide suggestions whenever needed, but I always respect the director’s vision. Any changes are made only with their approval. I believe when directors are happy, the film will turn out well.

Has the production of small films increased or decreased?
Producer Vamsi Nandipati: The number of small films has actually increased. After the success of films like Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambhai, many filmmakers have gained confidence. Recently, hundreds of new film titles were registered. While OTT projects are increasing, theatrical releases are still very important.

Do you have plans to direct films in the future?
Producer Vamsi Nandipati: No, I do not have plans to direct films. My goal is to produce good and meaningful films as a producer.

Can you share details about your upcoming projects?
Producer Vamsi Nandipati: Pre-production work for Polimera-3 is currently in progress, and we plan to begin shooting in April or May. The film will release in multiple South Indian languages. I am also working on a project with ETV Win, which will be announced soon. Additionally, I am distributing Shivaji’s film Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani, which will release on March 6.
