Naidu Sets Monthly Target for Amaravati Projects
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has ordered the faster execution of 95 Amaravati projects worth ₹50,999 crore. Officials and contractors must target 7.92% monthly progress while resolving land, funding, approval, and design issues across the capital region.

Amaravati capital construction progress has come under renewed review after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu ordered officials and contractors to accelerate work across the greenfield capital.
At a Secretariat meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, he said speed, quality, and timely delivery must guide every project being implemented in the capital region.
Amaravati Capital Construction Progress Under Review
Naidu reviewed 95 projects being executed at an estimated cost of ₹50,999 crore. He directed construction agencies to achieve a minimum monthly work progress of 7.92% and warned that delays in execution would not be accepted.
The Chief Minister acknowledged that work had accelerated compared with its earlier pace but said further improvement was necessary to complete projects within their stipulated schedules.
He described participation in building the state capital as a prestigious opportunity and urged contractors to maintain high construction standards while meeting the prescribed deadlines.
Government Promises Support to Avoid Project Delays
The Andhra Pradesh government assured construction agencies that financial constraints would not be allowed to disrupt Amaravati works. However, Naidu placed responsibility on officials and contractors to ensure that available resources result in measurable progress.
Departments and senior officials were asked to coordinate closely on land acquisition, fund mobilisation, statutory clearances, and project design approvals. Faster resolution of these issues is expected to help agencies maintain the new monthly target and prevent individual projects from falling behind schedule.
Amaravati, Vijayawada, and Guntur Planned as One Urban Region
Naidu said Amaravati should not be viewed only as a group of 29 villages. Development planning should instead consider Amaravati, Vijayawada, and Guntur as an integrated urban region with shared infrastructure, roads, and future connectivity requirements.
This broader approach could influence how transport links, public facilities, and trunk infrastructure are developed across the capital region. The Chief Minister also called for increased green cover alongside road construction and other major works.
Regular Monitoring of Amaravati Projects
Naidu announced that he would personally review the progress of Amaravati capital works at regular intervals. The monitoring will focus on whether agencies are meeting deadlines, maintaining quality, and resolving administrative obstacles without prolonged delays.
The 7.92% monthly benchmark gives departments and contractors a clear short-term performance target. Its implementation, along with timely approvals and fund flow, will be central to the government’s effort to speed up Andhra Pradesh capital development.
