Pawan Kalyan Says Hyderabad Is His Motherland Amid Telangana Political Row

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has strongly defended his right to visit and work in Hyderabad, saying no one can stop him from coming to what he called his motherland.

His remarks came amid a political row over Jana Sena’s growing interest in Telangana politics. Pawan Kalyan said that Hyderabad is not anyone’s private property and that every citizen has the constitutional right to move and work anywhere in India. The comments were made in response to criticism from some political voices questioning his presence in Hyderabad.

Pawan Kalyan Responds To Hyderabad Criticism

Pawan Kalyan said some “fringe elements” had questioned why he was coming to Hyderabad and entering Telangana politics. He rejected those remarks and said he does not need permission from anyone to visit the city.

Calling Hyderabad and Telangana part of his own country, he said his response came from the need to protect his fundamental right. His statement, “This is not your jagir; this is my motherland,” has now become the main talking point in the latest political debate.

Jana Sena Plans Telangana Push

The row has gained importance because Jana Sena is preparing to expand its political activity in Telangana. Pawan Kalyan has already announced that Jana Sena will contest the 2028 Telangana Assembly elections and work to rebuild its organisation in the state.

This move could add a new political angle in Telangana, where Congress is in power, BRS is trying to regain ground, and the BJP is also looking to expand. Jana Sena’s entry may especially attract attention among Telugu voters who follow Pawan Kalyan’s political and film journey.

Congress Accused Of Regional Bias

Pawan Kalyan also accused Congress-linked voices of encouraging regional bias. He said it was surprising that such comments were coming from people associated with a national party.

According to him, political differences are normal, but telling someone not to enter Hyderabad or Telangana is not acceptable in a democratic country. Telangana Congress leader Shabbir Ali had earlier demanded an apology from Pawan Kalyan over his Telangana-related remarks, adding more heat to the issue.

Telangana Connection Since Early Political Days

Pawan Kalyan said his connection with Telangana did not begin recently. He said many Telangana youth had supported his ideology even before Jana Sena was launched in 2014.

He also said his political journey began much earlier, during his involvement in public causes and his association with earlier political movements. According to him, Jana Sena has a base in Telangana, and the party will work to strengthen it in the coming years.

Andhra Pradesh Still Main Priority

Even as Jana Sena looks toward Telangana, Pawan Kalyan clarified that his main focus remains Andhra Pradesh, where he is currently serving as Deputy Chief Minister.

He said Telangana politics needs to be handled carefully because some regional issues are sensitive. However, his latest remarks show that Jana Sena does not want to stay away from Telangana politics.

Political Debate Likely To Continue

Pawan Kalyan’s Hyderabad motherland remark has opened a fresh political debate between supporters and critics. His supporters see it as a strong defence of constitutional rights and national unity. Critics, however, may see Jana Sena’s Telangana plan as a new political challenge.

With Jana Sena preparing for the 2028 Telangana Assembly elections, Pawan Kalyan’s Hyderabad remark is likely to remain a major discussion point in Telugu state politics.
