Amaravati Seed Access Road Strengthens Capital Connectivity
Amaravati has taken another major step in its infrastructure development with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurating the E3 Seed Access Road and a steel bridge in Guntur district. The project is expected to significantly improve road connectivity between the greenfield capital region and Vijayawada.
Road infrastructure is considered one of the most important requirements for the growth of a new capital city. Unlike established metropolitan centres where expanding major road networks can be difficult because of dense construction, Amaravati has the advantage of being developed through a planned urban layout.
The newly inaugurated corridor is expected to become an important route for people travelling between different parts of the capital region and National Highway 16. Officials and planners see improved connectivity as essential for attracting investments, supporting construction activity and making future residential and commercial zones more accessible.
Amaravati E3 Road Built At Cost Of Rs 1,520 Crore
The E3 Seed Access Road has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs 1,520 crore and stretches for approximately 22 kilometres. The road begins near Dondapadu village in Amaravati and passes through several important locations before reaching the national highway network.
Its route covers Rayapudi, Venkatapalem, Penumaka, Undavalli and Tadepalli before connecting with NH-16. This alignment is expected to provide a smoother and faster travel corridor between Amaravati and the Vijayawada region.
The project also includes a steel bridge, adding another important piece of infrastructure to the capital city’s expanding road network. Better road links could reduce travel time and improve access to administrative, residential and commercial areas planned across Amaravati.
Amaravati Vijayawada Link Supports Future Development
The Seed Access Road is expected to play a strategic role as construction activity accelerates across the capital region. Seamless links with Vijayawada and NH-16 could improve movement for government employees, residents, businesses, construction vehicles and visitors.
Amaravati’s planned road network is one of the advantages highlighted by the state government as it seeks to develop the city as a modern administrative and economic centre. Wide roads, structured connectivity and integration with surrounding highways are expected to support long-term urban growth.
The new corridor could also strengthen access to villages located within the capital region, helping connect local communities with major transportation routes and future development zones.

Speaking during the inauguration, Chandrababu Naidu described Amaravati as an inclusive capital for Andhra Pradesh and expressed confidence that the city would emerge as an important centre for development.
The Chief Minister has repeatedly placed infrastructure at the centre of his vision for Amaravati. The completion and opening of the Seed Access Road is therefore being viewed as an important milestone in the broader effort to accelerate construction and improve connectivity across the capital.
With the 22-km E3 corridor now operational, Amaravati gains a major road link connecting the developing capital to Vijayawada and NH-16. The project is expected to support faster movement, future investment and the next phase of urban growth in Andhra Pradesh’s planned capital city.
