An explosion at a power plant in Sakti district has left nine workers dead and 15 others injured. The incident occurred at a Vedanta Limited power plant in Singhitarai village on Tuesday afternoon, with fears that some workers may still be trapped at the site.
According to police officials, the blast was caused by a boiler tube explosion. Emergency response teams rushed to the location soon after the incident and launched rescue operations to locate and assist those affected. Authorities are continuing efforts to ensure that no workers remain trapped.
The injured have been shifted to hospitals in Raigarh for treatment, where they are receiving medical care.
