Arjun Sarja Interview About Seetha Payanam, Family Legacy, and His Future in Cinema

Arjun Sarja Interview About Seetha Payanam, Family Legacy, and His Future in Cinema

What was the idea behind releasing Seetha Payanam in four languages?
Arjun Sarja: "Previously, I made films in two or three languages, but Seetha Payanam has a universal theme that resonates with all audiences. The story is relatable to everyone, making it suitable for release in four languages. It’s a feel-good film that appeals to viewers everywhere."

Did working with your daughter affect the budget planning for the film?
Arjun Sarja: "Working with family gives me complete control over the budget. I can manage spending efficiently, which gives me comfort and confidence in the film’s financial planning."

Why did you choose Telugu to introduce your daughter Aishwarya to the industry?
Arjun Sarja: "The Telugu film industry has always shown me immense love and support, so I wanted to introduce Aishwarya here first. It felt like the right way to start her career."

Was another actor considered for the role initially? Did that change the film’s direction?
Arjun Sarja: "Yes, we initially considered Vishwak Sen for the role, but circumstances led us to cast Niranjan. Despite the change, we didn’t alter a single scene. Everything went smoothly, and I have no issues with Vishwak Sen. Life is a circle, and we may work together in the future."

Why did you choose to launch your daughter in the film industry instead of a son?
Arjun Sarja: "Daughters are just as capable as sons. We shouldn’t discriminate based on gender. My daughter loves acting, and it’s important to support her interests, just like we would with any family member."

What type of elements does Seetha Payanam feature?
Arjun Sarja: "Seetha Payanam is a mature, layered story. It’s not just a love story; it includes many emotions. It also highlights the idea that loving your family and country is another form of patriotism."

How significant is action in this film?
Arjun Sarja: "The film includes action sequences that will resonate with mass audiences, but they are integral to the story. The music and background score by Anup Rubens add depth to the film."

What types of roles do you still wish to explore as an actor?
Arjun Sarja: "I want to explore a variety of roles, from villains to comedians. Abhimanyudu brought me a lot of appreciation, and I want to continue challenging myself. My next project will be a pure action film."

How did the censor board react after watching the film?
Arjun Sarja: "They were very emotional after viewing the film and appreciated it a lot. The movie passed with a clean ‘U’ certificate without any cuts."

How did the idea of Seetha Payanam come about?
Arjun Sarja: "I got this idea 13 years ago, and it stayed with me for all these years. I even shared the concept with Aishwarya back then. Over time, I fully developed it, and I wanted to introduce her with such a meaningful story."

What can you tell us about the roles of the lead characters?
Arjun Sarja: "Both the hero and heroine’s roles are deep and purposeful, not just about dance or glamour. Their performances are rich in scope, and I believe audiences will talk about Aishwarya and Niranjan’s characters after watching the film."

Which do you prefer, acting or directing?
Arjun Sarja: "I currently prefer directing over acting. I have several scripts ready, and I’m excited to direct my next mass action film. It will be pure action, with no love story or songs."

Is Hanuman Junction 2 possible?
Arjun Sarja: "I would love to make Hanuman Junction 2. I spoke with Jagapathi Babu recently, and he’s also on board. But we need the right script to move forward. If it’s the right one, I’ll produce and direct it myself."

Which of your old films would you like to re-release?
Arjun Sarja: "I would love to re-release Gentleman. It’s still relevant today and fits well with the current situations. I think it’s a film that can inspire today’s audience."

How was it to have Power Star Pawan Kalyan at the film’s launch?
Arjun Sarja: "Pawan Kalyan is an extremely honest and humble person. When I invited him to the pooja ceremony, he agreed immediately. He stayed for three hours instead of five minutes. His support meant a lot, and he said, 'We are here for you.'"

Will you enter politics?
Arjun Sarja: "I don’t have much understanding of politics, and it’s not a path I wish to follow. I’m happy with acting and directing. However, I do want to do good for people in my own way."

Finally, what would you like to say about Seetha Payanam?
Arjun Sarja: "Seetha Payanam is a film made for all sections of the audience, from Gen Z to elders. It’s a movie that families can watch together in theatres."
