Varsha Bollamma Exclusive Interview on Preparing for Action in "Thammudu" and Her Character

Varsha Bollamma Exclusive Interview on Preparing for Action in

Can you tell us about your character in Thammudu?
Varsha Bollamma
: "I portray Chitra, a pivotal character who plays a crucial role in Nithiin’s journey. She's strong, supportive, and helps him unconditionally. Chitra’s bond with the hero is central to the story, and I thoroughly enjoyed bringing her to life."

What was the most challenging aspect of your role in Thammudu?
Varsha Bollamma
: "The most challenging part was the physical training required for the role. I had the chance to train in martial arts, which was a new and exciting experience for me. Additionally, filming in the dense forests of Maredumilli during the monsoon brought its own set of challenges, including dealing with snakes and scorpions. But these challenges only made the experience more authentic and rewarding."

Thammudu features a lot of intense action scenes. How did you prepare for them?
Varsha Bollamma
: "I had to undergo martial arts training, learning various techniques for the action sequences. This is definitely the most physically demanding film I've worked on, and the action scenes are designed to be spectacular. We even shot some scenes at night, holding torches, which added a thrilling, adventurous element."

You’ve mentioned that Chitra is quite different from you. Can you elaborate?
Varsha Bollamma
: "Yes, Chitra is a person who acts without hesitation and takes charge when needed. Unlike her, I tend to think things through before taking action. Playing such a decisive and strong-willed character was both challenging and exciting."

What were some of the challenges you faced during the filming process?
Varsha Bollamma
: "Filming in Maredumilli was one of the biggest challenges. We were in the middle of a forest with no phone signals, and the weather was unpredictable. We also had to deal with wildlife, including snakes and scorpions, which made the whole experience intense but authentic. Despite these difficulties, the team stayed enthusiastic and worked together to bring the film’s rawness to life."

How does the title Thammudu resonate with you?
Varsha Bollamma
: "The title holds special significance as it shares its name with Pawan Kalyan's iconic film. It perfectly suits the emotional undertones of our movie, especially the brother-sister relationship, while also delving into several layers of emotion."

What was your experience working with Nithiin and the rest of the cast?
Varsha Bollamma: "Nithiin was great to work with. He’s very down-to-earth and respectful, despite his calm nature. We spent a lot of time in the forest together, which allowed us to bond and joke around. I also admire Laya for making a successful comeback and sharing her journey with the team."

What’s next for you after Thammudu?
Varsha Bollamma
: "I'm currently working on a web series titled Constable Kanakam, and I have a few more projects lined up. One of my dreams is to play a psycho killer in a crime thriller, as I’ve always been fascinated by such unpredictable characters. If the opportunity arises, I would love to explore that role."

How do you think Thammudu will impact the audience?
Varsha Bollamma
: "I believe Thammudu will be a visual treat. The action sequences are amazing, and the sound design will make the experience even more immersive. It’s a film that is meant to be experienced in theatres, and I’m excited for the audience to enjoy it on the big screen."
