PM Narendra Modi Urges WFH, Public Transport Use, and Savings Amid Global Crisis
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to adopt simple lifestyle changes to help reduce the economic impact of the ongoing global crisis and rising energy concerns. Speaking at a public event in Hyderabad, he emphasized the need to conserve fuel, cut unnecessary expenses, and support efforts to protect India’s foreign exchange reserves.
Among his key suggestions, the Prime Minister called for increased use of public transport such as metro services, promoting carpooling, and reducing the consumption of petrol and diesel wherever possible. He also encouraged the adoption of electric vehicles as a long-term solution.
Modi further suggested that companies and employees consider reviving work-from-home arrangements, along with online meetings and video conferencing, similar to practices followed during the COVID-19 period.
He also advised citizens to postpone non-essential foreign travel, limit spending on imported goods, and support domestically produced products. According to him, responsible consumption can help manage the challenges arising from global uncertainties and fluctuating fuel prices.
The Prime Minister spoke about reducing cooking oil consumption for health benefits and encouraged the use of solar energy and sustainable agricultural practices. He noted that small, collective lifestyle changes can play a significant role in easing pressure on the economy during uncertain times.
