The searches are part of an investigation into suspected land grabbing, extortion, illegal construction, and hawala transactions. Biswas was arrested on May 15 after allegedly skipping multiple ED summons. Sona Pappu was arrested four days later after being on the run for nearly three months. The case has gained attention because Biswas once handled the high-security Kalighat area in Kolkata.
