Chennai, Tamil Nadu — The Tamil Nadu government signed 97 MoUs worth Rs 67,452 crore at the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave, with proposed projects expected to create around 1.20 lakh jobs.

The agreements carry a combined proposed investment commitment of more than Rs 67,452 crore and are expected to generate around 1.20 lakh employment opportunities.
The MoUs were exchanged in the presence of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and Industries Minister S Keerthana at the TVK government's first major investors' conclave since coming to power in May.
The investments cover a wide range of sectors including automobiles, electric mobility, renewable energy, life sciences, electronics, research and development, aerospace, manufacturing and data centres. According to the government, the latest agreements include both greenfield projects from companies entering Tamil Nadu for the first time and expansion projects from companies that already have operations in the state.
Tamil Nadu Investments Bring Major Companies And New ProjectsSeveral major Indian and international companies are among the investors. Hinduja Group plans to invest Rs 2,500 crore in renewable energy and mobility solutions, including solar and wind systems, batteries and transport-related projects.
Skyroot Aerospace plans to establish its first Tamil Nadu facility in Tuticorin with an investment of Rs 250 crore, while Agnikul Cosmos is set to invest Rs 400 crore in space technology and launch vehicle assembly in the district.
Other major commitments include Daimler India Commercial Vehicles with Rs 4,000 crore, JK Tyre with Rs 5,143 crore, Lucas TVS with Rs 2,500 crore and Saint-Gobain with Rs 2,000 crore.

Tamil Nadu Targets Rs 1 Lakh Crore In First 100 Days
Industries Minister S Keerthana said the cumulative investment commitments secured during the first 100 days of the new government are expected to cross Rs 1 lakh crore, with employment potential exceeding 1.20 lakh jobs.
Since the TVK government took office, the total number of MoUs signed has reportedly reached 104, representing investment commitments approaching Rs 1 lakh crore. The administration has linked the investment drive to its longer-term target of building Tamil Nadu into a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036.
The government is also promoting a 21-day approval timeline for licences and MoUs in an effort to make project clearances faster. Twenty-five companies participating in the latest investment round are making their first investment in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Eyes Jobs Across Future-Ready IndustriesThe latest investment commitments could strengthen Tamil Nadu's position across established industries such as automobiles and manufacturing while expanding its presence in newer sectors including electric mobility, aerospace, semiconductors, artificial intelligence infrastructure and renewable energy.
Seven institutional MoUs were also signed covering areas including MSME development, trade, drone training, technology transfer and semiconductor skilling.
With 97 fresh agreements and proposed commitments exceeding Rs 67,000 crore, the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave has become one of the biggest investment announcements of the new government's opening months. Attention will now shift to how quickly the projects move from signed MoUs to construction, production and actual job creation across Tamil Nadu.
