June Money Changes: LPG Hike, UPI Checks And Tax Deadline May Affect Your Budget

Key June Financial Updates Consumers Should Know

June has brought a fresh set of money-related changes that may affect households, taxpayers, small businesses and digital payment users. From commercial LPG rates to UPI security checks, these updates can impact monthly budgets and financial planning.

LPG Price Hike Hits Businesses

Commercial LPG cylinder prices have increased since June 1, 2026. The hike may affect restaurants, tea shops, catering units and small food businesses that depend on 19-kg cylinders. However, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged, giving relief to regular household users.

June 15 Tax Deadline Nears

Taxpayers with an estimated yearly tax liability of more than ₹10,000 must pay the first advance tax instalment by June 15, 2026. The first instalment is 15% of the estimated tax liability. Missing the deadline may attract monthly interest, so freelancers, business owners, and eligible individuals should review their dues early.

UPI, Solar And EPFO Updates

High-value UPI transactions may now need extra security checks such as fingerprint, face verification, or device-based authentication. The move is aimed at reducing online fraud and protecting digital payments.

New solar rules are also in force for subsidised and net-metering projects, which must use approved domestic solar modules and cells. EPFO’s UPI withdrawal facility is still under testing and has not been launched nationwide yet.
