What excited you when Buchi Babu Sana narrated the story of Peddi?
Shivarajkumar: Peddi is a wonderful story. My character is also very well written. I felt that I should definitely be part of such a good film. I am very happy that I got the chance to play a meaningful role in this movie.

What is special about your character Gournayudu?
Shivarajkumar: Gournayudu has a clear purpose and goal in the story. Director Buchi Babu Sana has presented the character beautifully. It gave me great satisfaction as an actor.

Is your character similar to a coach for Ram Charan’s role?
Shivarajkumar: It is almost like a coach role. Peddi’s journey is very interesting, and several important characters come into his life during that journey. The bond between Peddi and Gournayudu is very engaging. The love, affection and emotion between both characters will connect strongly with audiences.

What do you feel about Ram Charan’s performance in Peddi?
Shivarajkumar: I strongly believe Ram Charan may receive a National Award for this film. His body transformation and performance are outstanding. He worked very hard and stayed fully focused on this role. He is a brilliant actor, and for almost two years, he worked with complete dedication. He lived in the character with honesty.

How was the shooting journey of Peddi?
Shivarajkumar: Ram Charan, the director and the entire technical team treated me with great love and respect. We all worked together like one family. Their support helped me perform my role even better.

What do you want to say about director Buchi Babu Sana?
Shivarajkumar: Buchi Babu Sana has made this film wonderfully. His making and taking are superb. He has shown only what the story truly needs. His storytelling is excellent, and he is a fantastic director.

How are the other characters in the film?
Shivarajkumar: Along with my character, Jagapathi Babu’s role and all the other characters have also been designed beautifully by Buchi Babu. Rathnavelu’s visuals will mesmerise audiences on the big screen.

The film has multiple sports elements. How are they connected to the story?
Shivarajkumar: Yes, the film has several sports elements. But every sport is strongly connected to the story. Audiences will enjoy those sequences on the big screen.

There is a lot of discussion about the climax. What can audiences expect?
Shivarajkumar: The climax will be very surprising. Audiences should watch and experience it in theatres. Peddi’s journey is beautiful, and I believe it will be loved by everyone.

What do you want to say about producer Satish Kilaru?
Shivarajkumar: Satish Kilaru is a producer with great passion for cinema. He has made this film on a grand scale with excellent production values.

How do you prepare for a character?
Shivarajkumar: After the director narrates the story, I imagine a certain style for the character. I discuss it with the director. Then, by combining his suggestions and my thoughts, I perform the role with proper understanding.

What kind of roles do you like to do?
Shivarajkumar: I like doing roles that touch my heart. Gournayudu in Peddi is one such character.

What are your upcoming films?
Shivarajkumar: I am currently working on Gummadi Narsaiah and Jailer 2. If good stories come my way, I would definitely love to do more films in Telugu.
