Vedha Jalandhar Interview: Every Ameer Log Character Matters

Vedha Jalandhar Interview: Every Ameer Log Character Matters

Tell us about your journey as an actress.
Vedha Jalandhar:
I started my career in 2019. Two films that I worked on were screened at international film festivals, but unfortunately, they were never released theatrically. Later, I trained in theatre to further develop my acting skills. The entire journey has been a valuable learning experience, and I have genuinely enjoyed exploring acting and being part of different films.

What kind of character do you play in Ameer Log?
Vedha Jalandhar:
My character is very much like the girl next door, but at the same time, she is someone who can inspire people around her. My mother has always been my biggest inspiration, and this character reflects some of her qualities. I learned from my mother to be straightforward and express my thoughts without hesitation, and my character in the film has a similar personality.

How did you get the opportunity to be part of Ameer Log?
Vedha Jalandhar:
Director Ramana Reddy garu was not familiar with my earlier work in Thimmarajupalli TV. Bashir Master informed us about the auditions for Ameer Log. I attended the audition, performed the scenes given to me, and Ramana garu selected me immediately after seeing my performance.

What kind of feedback have you received for your performance?
Vedha Jalandhar:
Everyone who has watched Ameer Log so far has spoken positively about my character and performance. Even though I have worked in only a few films, people are remembering my roles, which makes me very happy. I want to choose films where my character has genuine importance, so I am being quite selective about the projects I accept.

We hear biryani has an important place in Ameer Log. Is that true?
Vedha Jalandhar:
Yes, you could almost say that biryani itself plays an important character in Ameer Log. It has been integrated into the story in a very interesting and natural way. I believe that particular element, along with the emotions in the film, will connect strongly with audiences.

How was your experience working with sync sound?
Vedha Jalandhar:
I had previously worked on a feature film that was also shot using sync sound, so I was familiar with the process. It can be challenging because even small sounds from the surroundings can get recorded. However, everyone on this film cooperated extremely well. The people living in the basti where we shot also supported us throughout the process. Since it is also the area where Ramana garu’s mother-in-law lives, we received even more cooperation from the locals.

Do you feel disappointed that only a few of your films have been released in the last six years?
Vedha Jalandhar:
I do not think the number of released films is as important as the way audiences accept us and the kind of characters we choose. When I look back at my six-year journey, I feel satisfied with the roles I have played. Whether a film eventually gets released is not always in an actor’s control, so I prefer to focus on the quality of my work.

What can you tell us about the music of Ameer Log?
Vedha Jalandhar:
Smaran garu’s music has elevated the film to another level. He has delivered wonderful music and an effective background score. There are certain emotions that we could not completely communicate through visuals alone, and his music expresses those emotions beautifully. The background score is a very important part of Ameer Log.

How would you describe the lead characters in the film?
Vedha Jalandhar:
Every character in Ameer Log has its own importance, and audiences will be able to connect with each of them in different ways. It was a wonderful experience working with Hari, Manoj and Sasi. We shared a very good rapport and had a lot of fun while shooting together.

How was your experience working with director Ramana Reddy Soma and the technical team?
Vedha Jalandhar:
Ramana Reddy garu took great care of all of us and clearly explained what he expected from every scene. We even conducted demo shoots so that everyone understood the tone and presentation before filming. We shot in the area where producer Madhavi Reddy garu was born and raised, and the people there treated us extremely well. Our cinematographer is a person of very few words, but his work is exceptional.

What response did Ameer Log receive from Spirit Media and other celebrities?
Vedha Jalandhar:
The Spirit Media team watched the film and appreciated it. Director VN Aditya garu also attended our premiere and praised the film. He specifically mentioned that my role was not a routine character and appreciated the way it had been written to connect with audiences. He also said that our performances complemented Ramana garu’s writing very well.

Did the dialect create any challenges? Will audiences everywhere understand the film?
Vedha Jalandhar:
I do not think the language or dialect will be a barrier. Emotions are universal, and people everywhere understand genuine emotions regardless of regional differences. I strongly believe Ameer Log will connect with audiences across different sections and regions.
