Behind Love Insurance Company: Interview with Producer Shiva Prasad

Behind Love Insurance Company: Interview with Producer Shiva Prasad

About your journey as a producer?
Producer Shiva Prasad: We first produced the movie Maatru with Sriram. Then we produced Raja Raja. Currently, we are working on a movie with Suhasini Mani Ratnam called Mahati. The shooting for that film is 90% complete. We also distributed Vijay Sethupathi’s Ace movie and have a Marathi film ready for release. I’m the director and producer for that movie as well.

Now, we are releasing Love Insurance Company, and we are also getting ready for the re-release of Geetanjali and Mithun Chakraborty’s Disco Dancer. We’ve also introduced our younger brother in the movie Rangoon Raja, which is currently in post-production. We plan to release it in July.

About the movie Love Insurance Company?
Producer Shiva Prasad:
We had signed the agreement for this movie last year. Many people tried for it, but we were the first to commit, and hence, they gave us the chance. The movie turned out amazing, and I’m confident it will be a big success. It will be released in about 500 screens. In terms of distribution, we are safe.

The story is designed based on current situations and future technologies. It focuses on how technology impacts human relationships and emotions, particularly how they become more artificial than heartfelt due to technological advancements.Pradeep Ranganathan is performing wonderfully in the film, and Vignesh Shivan has directed it brilliantly. Another highlight of the film is Anirudh Ravichander's music.

I’m sure the film will entertain the audience. The movie already has great reach. We received support from Dil Raju and Anil Ravipudi during the trailer launch, and the content will definitely connect with the audience. It’s a full-length entertainer.SJ Suryah's role in the movie is fantastic. He performed like a hero. Both Pradeep and Suryah gave stellar performances. Vignesh Shivan, with his great vision, has made this film without any compromises.

New movies you're planning to work on?
Producer Shiva Prasad
: We made Rangoon Raja with our younger brother Ajay as the hero, and we plan to release it in June or July. The movie Mahati will also be ready soon.

Do you think the IPL will affect the movie industry?
Producer Shiva Prasad:
I believe that if the movie is good, audiences will definitely watch it, regardless of the IPL. A movie with great content will succeed, and IPL won’t make a significant impact on it.

About telling Vijay Sethupathi the story?
Producer Shiva Prasad:
Vijay Sethupathi is currently very busy with his schedule. We’re waiting to share the story with him once we stabilize in the industry.

What kind of stories do you like?
Producer Shiva Prasad:
I like love stories, and I prefer narratives that address current issues in a way that everyone can relate to.Love Insurance Company is a full-length entertainer with a futuristic genre that will provide a unique experience to the audience.

All the best!
Producer Shiva Prasad:
Thank you.
