Nithya NS Discusses Keyuri’s Creative Vision and Future Projects in an Exclusive Interview

Nithya NS Discusses Keyuri’s Creative Vision and Future Projects in an Exclusive Interview

What led you to start your own production banner, Keyuri?
I’ve always believed that my relationship with cinema extends beyond acting. Launching Keyuri felt like the next logical step to deepen my involvement in filmmaking. It gives me a platform to produce films that reflect authenticity, intention, and creative integrity. Through Keyuri, I want to create stories that resonate with me personally and that bridge the gap between contemporary cinema and the films I truly connect with.

Can you tell us the meaning behind the name ‘Keyuri’?
The name Keyuri resonates with me deeply. It represents the feminine divine and symbolizes creative energy, which is exactly the type of vision I want for my production banner. The word has an inherent universality and rooted meaning, which aligns with the kind of films I want to create — films that are both meaningful and emotionally engaging.

What type of films do you aspire to produce under Keyuri?
I believe in the power of honesty in storytelling. I’m not interested in following trends or making films to please specific audiences. My goal is to produce films that are emotionally rich, authentic, and timeless. I admire films like Lootera, Kumbalangi Nights, Sarvam Maya, and The Lunchbox, and I aspire to create similar stories that leave a lasting impact on the audience.

Why do you place such importance on honesty in filmmaking?
Honesty is the cornerstone of meaningful cinema. A good story must come from a place of truth, not from the desire to fit into trends or cater to expectations. In my acting career, I’ve always chosen roles based on authenticity rather than popularity, and I want Keyuri to adhere to the same philosophy — to focus on producing films that are grounded in sincerity.

Are you currently involved in any film projects as a producer or an actor?
Keyuri is a new venture, and it took me about six to seven months to establish it. While no official announcements have been made yet, I’m actively exploring scripts and ideas for future projects. As for my acting career, I’ve taken a brief break, but I have some exciting projects lined up that will be announced soon.

How can aspiring writers or filmmakers approach Keyuri with scripts?
We aim to create an open and transparent process for future collaborations. All details for submitting scripts and other updates will be available through our website and social media platforms, ensuring that filmmakers and writers have a clear way to connect with Keyuri.

There has been some confusion about your name. Could you clarify what it is?
Yes, there has been some confusion about my name. My first name is and always has been Nithya. The official name on my birth certificate is Nithya NS. I would appreciate it if people would use my correct name and refrain from altering it or expanding the initials. I’d like my name to be respected and used properly.
