Thunderstorms with lightning and squally winds are also forecast in several districts. For Friday, the IMD warns that winds in affected areas could reach 45–55 kmph, with gusts up to 65 kmph. Elsewhere in Telangana, isolated thunderstorms with lightning and winds of 30–40 kmph remain possible. Hyderabad residents should therefore continue to check local updates even though the city is outside Friday’s red and orange rainfall lists.
Officials have asked residents to remain alert during the rain, particularly those taking part in Ganesh idol immersion activities. Thunderstorms can make travel and outdoor gatherings hazardous, while intense localised rain may quickly affect roads and low-lying areas.
