Ex-TMC Leader Bakul Sheikh Paraded In Malda After Arrest In Multiple Criminal Cases
Malda, June 25, 2026: Former Trinamool Congress Anchal President Bakul Sheikh was paraded publicly by police in West Bengal’s Malda district after his arrest in connection with multiple criminal cases, including alleged murder, loot, extortion, and kidnapping.
The incident took place in Kaliachak, where police escorted Sheikh through parts of the locality under heavy security. According to local accounts, residents had long accused him of creating fear in the area through alleged criminal activities and intimidation.

After his arrest, police conducted a public march with the Sheikh through the locality. He was seen walking amid a large security presence, with his hands folded and a rope tied around his waist.

Residents Claim Years Of Fear
Residents alleged that Bakul Sheikh’s influence had created an atmosphere of fear in Kaliachak for several years. Some claimed that families had even left the area due to intimidation and repeated allegations of violence.
Residents said his arrest brought relief to the locality and signalled a stronger police push against alleged criminal networks in the region.
