Andhra CM Announces Population Incentive Scheme

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a new population incentive scheme to encourage larger families in the state. The move comes amid concerns over declining birth rates and changing demographic trends in Andhra Pradesh.

Under the Andhra third child incentive plan, families will receive Rs 30,000 after the birth of a third child. The AP fourth child cash benefit will provide Rs 40,000 for the birth of a fourth child. Naidu said the detailed guidelines for the scheme will be released within a month.

Focus On Birth Rate And Family Support

The Chief Minister announced the Swarna Andhra–Swach Andhra cleanliness programme at Narsannapeta in Srikakulam district. He said children should be viewed as the future strength and wealth of the state.

The Andhra Pradesh third child scheme is part of a wider AP family cash incentive initiative aimed at improving population growth. Naidu also said the state needs to rethink its approach to family planning as birth rates continue to fall.

Earlier, the government had considered giving Rs 25,000 to couples having a second child. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav later said the benefit would be extended to families with a third child and beyond.
