Raghav Chadha, an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, has been granted Z-category security by the Centre following the Punjab government’s decision to withdraw his earlier Z+ cover. The enhanced protection, approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs, will be provided in both Delhi and Punjab, with central paramilitary personnel assigned to his security based on assessed threat levels.

The decision comes after a threat perception review by the Intelligence Bureau, which recommended additional safeguards. As an interim measure, Delhi Police has been directed to ensure immediate security coverage until the full deployment of central forces is completed.

The development follows recent political changes within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including Chadha’s removal as deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha. The move has highlighted internal tensions within the party, with Chadha stating he has been “silenced, not defeated,” and hinting at possible future political steps.
