Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has urged US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor to support increased visa access for students and simplify H-1B processing for professionals from the state.
During a 30-minute meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday, Reddy requested timely visa appointments, additional interview slots and faster processing for Telangana students planning to pursue higher education in the United States. He also sought advance information about changes in American visa rules so that students and professionals could prepare their applications without unexpected delays.
Reddy raised concerns over difficulties faced by Telangana-origin professionals during H-1B petition processing, visa renewals and stamping. He said delays in these procedures could affect employment, travel and family plans for skilled workers employed across different sectors in the United States.
Student Safety And University Partnerships Discussed
The chief minister and the ambassador discussed the safety and welfare of students from Telangana studying in the US. Reddy sought stronger coordination to assist students when they encounter academic, immigration or emergency-related problems.
