Middle East War Live: Pakistan Mediator Heads to Washington After Tehran Talks

Tensions in the Middle East remain high as Asim Munir is set to visit Washington following his diplomatic mission in Tehran. His outreach is aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran amid the ongoing regional conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran.

The visit comes after the collapse of high-level talks in Islamabad, which failed to produce a breakthrough. Sources say Pakistan is continuing its role as a mediator, attempting to bridge differences and revive diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran.

Meanwhile, the United States has intensified its military presence in the Strait of Hormuz, enforcing a naval blockade to restrict access to Iranian ports. United States Central Command (CENTCOM), backed by US Navy warships, Marines, and special forces, is actively patrolling the region. Despite a fragile ceasefire in parts of the conflict, Donald Trump has warned of immediate military action against any perceived threats.

The US Navy has reportedly deployed multiple warships near the Strait, leading to tense standoffs with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. At the same time, the conflict is taking an economic toll, with rising fuel prices in the US and increasing global supply chain disruptions affecting essential goods.

The blockade has also impacted global trade flows, pushing up prices of key commodities such as medicine and industrial materials. In a parallel development, YouTube removed a pro-Iran channel accused of spreading AI-generated content linked to the conflict, citing violations of its policies.

As military pressure and diplomatic efforts continue, Pakistan’s mediation role remains crucial. With Munir’s upcoming visit to Washington, attention is now on whether renewed talks can help de-escalate tensions in the volatile region.
