Bengaluru Corporate Daycare FIR Puts Focus On Child Safety At Workplace Crèches

The Bengaluru corporate daycare FIR has raised serious concerns over child safety at workplace crèches after caregivers were accused of mistreating toddlers. Police are investigating the allegations, while the case has also drawn attention from child rights authorities.

FIR Filed After Abuse Allegations At Bengaluru Daycare

A daycare facility operating inside a Bengaluru corporate campus has come under police investigation after serious allegations of child mistreatment were reported to authorities. The case has raised fresh concerns over the safety of toddlers in workplace crèches used by working parents.

Police have registered an FIR against five women caregivers named in the complaint. The allegations involve children as young as two being subjected to harsh and abusive treatment while they were left at the facility during their parents’ working hours.

Children Allegedly Punished For Crying

According to the complaint, toddlers were allegedly punished when they cried. The caregivers are accused of intimidating the children by making them sit inside the drum of a front-loading washing machine, forcing them near a toilet, spraying water into their mouths using a jet spray, and locking them inside a bathroom.

Police are now verifying the complaint and examining the available evidence. Statements of complainants, daycare staff, parents, and other witnesses are also being recorded as part of the investigation.

Senior Officers Monitoring The Case

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh described the matter as serious and said strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in or supporting such acts.

A Deputy Commissioner-rank woman officer has been assigned to supervise the investigation. Senior officers from the East division are also monitoring the case to ensure accountability in the probe.

Child Rights Commission May Seek Report

The matter has also reached the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights after a petition sought its intervention. The commission is expected to seek a report from the authorities and examine the allegations independently.

Officials are also looking into whether the daycare was directly managed by the company or operated by an external service provider functioning from within the campus.

Workplace Daycare Safety Under Scrutiny

The case has triggered wider discussion on child safety standards at corporate daycare centres. Many working parents depend on such facilities, especially when children are too young for school.

Child safety experts say workplace crèches must have trained caregivers, strict background checks, transparent monitoring systems, regular inspections, and clear complaint mechanisms. They also stress that toddlers should never be punished through fear, confinement, or physical intimidation.

The investigation is continuing, and police have said further action will depend on the evidence collected during the probe.
