CBSE OSM Row: Rahul Gandhi Demands Probe

Rahul Gandhi Raises CBSE OSM Row

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has demanded an independent probe into the CBSE OSM answer sheet row, after students raised complaints over scanned answer sheets, revaluation delays, handwriting mismatches, and missing pages. His remarks added political pressure to the controversy surrounding CBSE’s newly introduced On-Screen Marking system.

In a post on X, Gandhi questioned the Centre’s accountability and asked why students and parents had not received clear answers. He said the hard work and future of students should not be affected by possible errors in the evaluation process. The issue has become more serious after a large number of Class 12 students sought access to their evaluated answer sheets.

COEMPT And Evaluation Process Questioned

Gandhi also raised questions about COEMPT, a company allegedly linked to the OSM mechanism. He asked how the contract was awarded, whether proper rules were followed, and if background checks were done before assigning work related to CBSE evaluation.

He demanded a judicial inquiry and an SIT probe to identify accountability if irregularities are found. CBSE has denied security breach allegations and said safeguards are in place. The board also stated that over 13,000 answer sheets were manually reviewed, while more than 4 lakh Class 12 students applied for scanned copies. The controversy has now turned into a major education and accountability debate.
