CBSE reviews answer sheet mismatch complaints after Class 12 students raise concerns
CBSE Admits Answer Sheet Errors
The CBSE Class 12 evaluation process has come under fresh scrutiny after students alleged that wrong answer sheets were uploaded during the post-result review process. The issue gained attention after student Vedant Srivastava claimed that the Physics answer sheet shared with him under CBSE’s Online Script Monitoring system did not belong to him.
Another student also reportedly raised a similar complaint after receiving lower-than-expected marks in Chemistry. Following the concerns, CBSE acknowledged discrepancies in two cases and said the marks will be revised after proper verification.
OSM System Faces Questions
The controversy has raised questions about scanning, uploading, and mapping of evaluated answer books under the digital system. Students and parents also reported problems such as blurred copies, missing pages, and delays in accessing scanned answer sheets.
CBSE said over 4.04 lakh students had applied for scanned copies of evaluated answer books, covering more than 11.31 lakh answer scripts. By May 26, 2026, around 8.98 lakh answer books had already been shared digitally, while the remaining copies were expected to be uploaded by May 27, 2026.
Re-Evaluation Portal Date
CBSE said the portal for verification of marks and re-evaluation is expected to open on May 29, 2026. The issue has now turned into a wider debate on transparency, accuracy, and student trust in the board’s post-result process.
