NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Set For June 21 As CBI Probes Leak Case

CBI Probe Expands After May 3, 2026, Exam Cancellation

The NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be held on June 21, after the May 3 medical entrance test was cancelled over paper leak allegations. More than 22 lakh aspirants are expected to appear again, making it one of the biggest exam controversies in recent years. The Central Bureau of Investigation is probing the alleged leak network across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana, and Delhi. The investigation has focused on coaching operators, lecturers, middlemen, parents, and possible insiders linked to the exam process. Officials are also examining digital evidence, payment links, and the suspected role of coaching centres in circulating question material before the test.

Students Face Fresh Stress Ahead Of June 21, 2026, Re-Test

The controversy has now reached Parliament and the Supreme Court. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan admitted a “breach in the chain of command”, while NTA officials reportedly told a parliamentary panel that there was no complete paper leak and only some questions had surfaced. This contradiction has increased pressure on the National Testing Agency to explain how the exam was compromised. Students and families are also facing fresh stress due to travel costs, summer heat, coaching expenses, and admission delays. Punjab has announced free bus travel for NEET re-exam students from June 20 to 22, 2026,  while Karnataka has decided to begin CET counselling for non-medical courses without waiting for NEET results.
