NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak: Whistleblower Alert Triggered Exam Cancellation
Teacher Reached Police Station After Exam
The NEET-UG 2026 controversy became one of the biggest education scandals in India after a whistleblower reportedly exposed a major paper leak linked to Rajasthan, Kerala, and Maharashtra. The exam was conducted nationwide on May 3, 2026, for over 22 lakh students. Hours later, around 1.30 am on May 4, 2026, a man reportedly arrived at Udyog Nagar Police Station in Rajasthan’s Sikar district carrying handwritten “guess papers” that allegedly matched questions asked in the actual exam. This Sikar NEET paper leak story later pushed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to cancel the examination on May 11.
Police officials said the whistleblower approached the station with evidence but left abruptly without submitting a written complaint. According to reports, the man is believed to be a teacher associated with a coaching institute in Sikar, now known as the “mini Kota” of Rajasthan because of its growing coaching industry. Officials later stated that no legal action could begin because the NEET exam leak teacher report was never formally submitted in writing.
Over 600 Marks Worth Questions Allegedly Matched
Investigators later found that nearly 90 Biology questions and all 45 Chemistry questions in the handwritten guess paper NEET material closely matched the actual examination paper. The leaked questions reportedly accounted for nearly 600 marks out of the total 720 marks. Authorities believe the leaked papers were circulated for more than two weeks before the examination and sold to students for amounts ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹30 lakh.
Kerala Connection Emerges In Probe
Reports claimed the whistleblower received the papers through his landlord, whose son was reportedly staying in Kerala. After comparing the questions with the actual exam paper, the teacher allegedly rushed to the police station with evidence. The NEET whistleblower case 2026 later gained national attention after detailed proof was reportedly sent directly to the NTA on May 7, along with a request for an independent investigation.
NTA Cancelled Exam After Internal Probe
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh later confirmed that the allegations were verified during an internal investigation. Following the probe, the agency officially announced the NEET exam cancellation reason for 2026 as the confirmed paper leak allegations. The Union Education Ministry later handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after investigators uncovered a wider multi-state network.
CBI Investigation Continues
The CBI has already made several arrests in Rajasthan and Maharashtra as agencies continue investigating the mini Kota Sikar NEET controversy and its links to coaching centres and intermediaries. Officials are now examining how the leaked “guess papers” were circulated before the examination and identifying those involved in the wider NEET leaked chemistry questions and Biology paper leak network.
