Police examine hotel evidence
Bengaluru police are investigating the deaths of two young sisters who were found inside a room at a five-star hotel near Kempegowda International Airport. Their father was discovered injured in the same room and later admitted to a hospital following an alleged suicide attempt.
Police identified the man as 40-year-old SG Imran, a resident of Nagawara in north Bengaluru. The girls were aged five and 10. Investigators allege that the father killed both children before injuring himself, though the complete circumstances are still being established.
Hotel security personnel reportedly entered the room after hearing screams and immediately alerted the authorities. Staff members arranged for the injured man to be taken to a hospital, where police said he was undergoing treatment and was out of danger.
Kempegowda Airport police secured the hotel room and began gathering evidence. Officers are examining available surveillance footage, entry records and other material that could help establish the family’s movements before the incident.
Preliminary findings indicated that the children had been strangled, according to police. Their bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations, and investigators are awaiting the complete medical and forensic reports.
Police are also expected to record statements from hotel employees, family members and others who may have information about the events leading to the deaths. The father’s account will be taken after doctors declare him medically fit for questioning.
Marital dispute claim remains unverified
DCP North East GK Mithun Kumar said officers recovered a note allegedly written by Imran. The note reportedly referred to a dispute with his wife and contained claims that she was involved in a relationship with another person.
It also allegedly stated that he possessed evidence supporting those suspicions. Police have not verified the claims, and the allegations should not be presented as established facts.
Investigators are examining whether the family dispute mentioned in the note had any connection to the deaths. The note is only one part of the evidence being reviewed and cannot, by itself, establish the motive.
“We are verifying the exact reason behind the deaths,” the DCP said, adding that the case was being examined from all possible angles.
Police will compare the note with witness accounts, digital records, forensic findings and the father’s eventual statement. Officers are also working to determine why the family checked into the hotel and what happened during their stay.
No final conclusion has been announced, and police have not released complete information about possible charges. Further legal action is expected after the medical reports are received and the injured man is questioned.
The case remains under active investigation. Authorities have urged that unverified allegations involving family members not be treated as fact while officers continue gathering evidence and establishing the sequence of events.
