A 22-year-old woman, daughter of a senior Income Tax Department officer, was found dead at her residence in southeast Delhi, triggering a major investigation. Police said the victim was alone at home when the incident occurred, as her parents had stepped out in the morning. Her body was later discovered under suspicious circumstances, prompting immediate action by law enforcement agencies.
Preliminary findings suggest that the victim was strangled, possibly using a mobile phone charging cable. Police and forensic teams examined the crime scene, where signs of a struggle were reported. Authorities are also investigating other possible angles, with further confirmation expected after medical reports.
Investigators suspect the involvement of a former domestic worker who had been dismissed from the household a few weeks earlier. CCTV footage from the area reportedly shows the suspect near the residence around the time of the incident, strengthening the suspicion.
The victim, an engineering graduate preparing for civil services examinations, is believed to have been targeted when the house was relatively unoccupied. Police believe the accused may have been aware of the family’s routine and used the opportunity to enter the premises.
The accused is currently absconding, and multiple teams have been deployed to trace his whereabouts. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway as authorities work to establish the sequence of events and bring the suspect to justice.
