Sai Pallavi’s character glimpse from Dhanush’s OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram: The Blood Wood introduces her as Nithya Reddy, an officer leading an investigation into illegal red sandalwood smuggling. Released on October 26, 2026, the video outlines her career, personal connection to the case and role in Operation OM. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 20.

Sai Pallavi’s Nithya Reddy Leads Operation OM

The glimpse introduces Nithya as an officer from Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, known as “Naidupeta Ammayi.” It traces her career from Assistant Superintendent of Police in the Andhra Pradesh police cadre to Additional Superintendent of Police in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It also says she was assigned to work with Interpol before taking charge of an investigation into the illegal trade in red sandalwood, also called Red Sanders. 

Nithya names the mission Operation OM. The video presents her as a determined investigator pursuing a smuggling network. It also gives the case a personal dimension: her father, an Indian Forest Service officer, died in the line of duty. His loss links her family history to the forest crime she is investigating, while the glimpse leaves the case’s wider details for the film. 

Glimpse Released in Three Languages

The makers released Sai Pallavi’s character introduction in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Director Rajkumar Periasamy presents her as Nithya Reddy, IPS, and highlights her Andhra roots through the “Naidupeta Ammayi” description. Her identity remains consistent across all three versions.

Sai Pallavi Reunites With Amaran Director

Written and directed by Periasamy, OM reunites him with Sai Pallavi after Amaran (2024). Their new film shifts from a military drama to an action thriller set around forests, crime and the red sandalwood trade.

Dhanush plays a woodcutter connected to the trade, while Mammootty appears in a key role. The glimpse does not fully explain how Nithya’s investigation intersects with their characters, leaving the central conflict for the film to reveal. Sai Abhyankkar composes the music.

OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram: The Blood Wood is scheduled to open worldwide on November 20, 2026, in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
