Lucknow Aliganj Fire: Coaching Centre Blaze Sparks Major Rescue Operation
A major fire broke out at a coaching centre building in Lucknow’s Aliganj area, prompting a large rescue operation with 14 fire tenders deployed.
Major Fire Reported In Aliganj
A major fire broke out at a three-storey commercial building in Lucknow’s Aliganj area on Monday, June 22, 2026, triggering panic and a large-scale rescue operation.
The blaze was reported around 3 pm from a coaching institute located on Usha Mehta Marg under Aliganj police station limits. Soon after receiving the alert, fire department teams rushed to the spot and began efforts to control the flames.
14 Fire Tenders Deployed
Officials said 14 fire tenders, including a hydraulic platform vehicle, were deployed as firefighters worked to douse the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
The building reportedly housed a coaching centre, gaming zone, and other commercial establishments. Thick smoke filled parts of the premises, making evacuation difficult for those present inside.
Students Jump To Escape Smoke
Visuals and local reports suggested that some people jumped from the first floor to escape the smoke and flames. Several persons were reported injured during the incident and were shifted for medical treatment.
Some reports said four people were feared dead, while official confirmation on the final casualty count was awaited at the time of reporting. Rescue and search teams continued checking the building to ensure no one remained trapped inside.
CM Yogi Orders Relief Measures
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took note of the incident and directed senior officials to reach the site, supervise rescue operations, and ensure proper treatment for the injured.
Police, fire department teams, and district administration officials remained at the spot as cooling and damage assessment operations continued.
Cause Of Fire Under Probe
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed. Authorities are expected to investigate whether an electrical fault, fire safety lapse, or building-related violation led to the blaze.
The incident has once again raised concerns over fire safety arrangements in coaching centres and commercial buildings operating in crowded urban areas.
