CM Yogi Issues Bakrid Guidelines
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued fresh Bakrid guidelines ahead of Eid-ul-Adha 2026 on May 25, 2026, directing officials to maintain peace, public order and smooth traffic movement across the state. During a review meeting in Lucknow, the Chief Minister clearly instructed that animal sacrifice should not be allowed in public places and religious activities must be conducted only at traditional or designated locations. Officials were asked to strictly follow the Bakrid guidelines in Uttar Pradesh and coordinate with local peace committees to prevent any tension during the festival. The administration has also been told to keep a close watch on sensitive areas and ensure that public convenience is not affected during celebrations.
No Public Sacrifice Or Namaz Road Blockades
Yogi Adityanath directed district administrations to take strict action against public sacrifice, open meat sale, illegal slaughterhouses and any violation involving prohibited animals. He also repeated that roads are meant for public movement and traffic, and namaz should not block commuters. Prayers should be offered only at designated places such as Eidgahs and mosques. If there is a shortage of space, namaz can be offered in shifts instead of occupying roads. Police commissioners, district magistrates and local officers have been asked to make proper arrangements near prayer locations so that devotees can offer namaz peacefully while traffic and emergency movement remain unaffected.
Security And Public Order Focus
The Uttar Pradesh government has asked police and administrative officials to remain alert during Bakrid, especially in sensitive districts and crowded areas. Officers have been instructed to stay in touch with community leaders and act quickly against rumours, provocative activities or attempts to disturb communal harmony. Along with Bakrid preparations, the review meeting also covered action against illegal mining, land mafia cases, public grievance redressal through IGRS and CM Helpline, and weekly chaupals at block level to solve local complaints.
