Panihati Results 2026: Ratna Debnath Leads Big, BJP Gains Ground
Counting for the West Bengal Assembly Election Results 2026 is underway, with early trends in the Panihati constituency showing a decisive lead for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
BJP candidate Ratna Debnath has surged ahead, crossing 48,000 votes and establishing a strong margin over Tirthankar Ghosh of the All India Trinamool Congress. The widening gap has placed Debnath in a commanding position, making her one of the frontrunners in this closely watched contest.
Located in North 24 Parganas, Panihati has traditionally been a stronghold of the TMC since 2011. However, current trends indicate a significant shift, with the BJP gaining ground and translating early momentum into a substantial lead.
Ratna Debnath’s campaign focused strongly on issues such as justice and women’s safety, which appear to have resonated with voters across key areas. Her lead reflects a broad-based support that has outpaced her rivals in multiple counting rounds.
TMC candidate Tirthankar Ghosh continues to trail despite the party’s established presence in the constituency. Other candidates, including those from CPI(M), Congress, and smaller parties, remain far behind in what has turned into a largely one-sided contest.
Counting is still in progress, and the final result is yet to be officially declared. However, the current trends suggest that Panihati could emerge as one of the most decisive victories for the BJP in the ongoing election cycle.
