Rangasamy Secures Win as NDA Leads in Puducherry Poll Results 2026

Vote counting for the Puducherry Assembly Elections 2026 is underway, with early trends indicating an advantage for the National Democratic Alliance led by the All India N. R. Congress. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has secured a decisive victory from the Thattanchavady constituency by a margin of 4,441 votes, marking a strong start for the ruling alliance as counting progresses.

Early trends suggest the NDA is leading in around 12 of the 30 Assembly seats. Within the alliance, the AINRC has put up a strong performance across multiple constituencies, while the Bharatiya Janata Party is also contributing to the overall lead.

The counting process began at 8 am with postal ballots, followed by Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) counting across designated centres. As rounds progressed, several constituencies began declaring leads and victories, with NDA candidates securing early wins in multiple seats.

Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress and other opposition parties are trailing in the initial stages. However, counting is still underway, and the final picture is expected to evolve as more rounds are completed.

With trends currently favouring the NDA, the results are likely to shape the political direction of Puducherry for the coming term. The final outcome will depend on the remaining counting rounds and official declarations from the Election Commission.
