BTS Draws Massive Crowd in Mexico City With ‘Te Amo’ Moment at Zócalo


Mexico City | May 7, 2026: Global K-pop sensation BTS sparked a massive fan frenzy as over 50,000 people gathered at Zócalo to catch a glimpse of the group ahead of their sold-out ARIRANG World Tour concerts. Members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook greeted fans from the balcony of the National Palace after meeting Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.














The crowd swelled within hours after news spread of BTS’s appearance, turning the iconic square into a sea of purple as fans waved banners, cheered loudly, and recorded the moment on their phones.

During the interaction, BTS members spoke in both English and Spanish, delighting fans with heartfelt messages. RM drew loud cheers after saying “Te Amo,” while V also addressed the crowd in Spanish, expressing how much the group had missed Mexico and praising the fans’ energy. The emotional exchange quickly went viral on social media.

President Sheinbaum praised BTS for promoting messages of peace, friendship and love through their music, sharing photos from the meeting online. The visit has emerged as one of the biggest entertainment moments in Mexico City this year.

BTS is set to perform multiple sold-out concerts in the city from May 7 to May 10, with the shows expected to generate significant economic activity as tickets sold out within minutes of release.
