BJP Targets Congress in Parliament, Blames It for Delimitation Impact on South

A heated debate unfolded during the Parliament special session as BJP MP Nishikant Dubey accused the Congress party of being responsible for the potential loss of seats in southern states under the delimitation process. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Dubey alleged that past Congress policies and decisions had contributed to current concerns over representation. He also criticised the party’s stance on issues such as the caste census and delimitation.

Rahul Gandhi strongly opposed the government’s approach, warning that the delimitation exercise could alter the political balance and reduce representation for southern and smaller states. He said the opposition would resist any move that undermines constitutional rights.

The session witnessed intense exchanges between the ruling party and the opposition, with both sides presenting contrasting views on the Women’s Reservation Bill and the Delimitation Bill. Several leaders joined the debate, raising concerns over representation, electoral balance, and the implementation of key legislative reforms. The discussions are expected to play a crucial role ahead of voting on the proposed bills.
