India’s Vishvanath Suresh and Sachin Siwach delivered impressive performances on Day 3 of the Asian Boxing Championships 2026, advancing to the quarterfinals in their respective categories.
In the men’s 50kg division, Vishvanath Suresh dominated his bout, registering a convincing 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Kazakhstan’s Bekzat Ergeshov. Displaying excellent technique and ring control, Suresh stayed in command throughout. He will next face Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar Tashkenbay, the reigning World Champion and World Cup winner, in a high-stakes quarterfinal clash.
In the men’s 60kg category, Sachin Siwach secured a hard-fought 4-1 split decision win against Mongolia’s Buyandalai Bayarkhuu. Showing composure in a closely contested bout, Siwach edged ahead to book his place in the quarterfinals. He is set to take on Cheng-Wei Lee of Chinese Taipei in the next round.
