NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Update: Fake Leak Claim, Admit Card Glitches Worry Students
The NEET UG 2026 re-exam has entered its final week, with students facing admit card download glitches, while a fake paper leak claim on social media has added to confusion before the June 21 test.
The latest concern began after a screenshot claiming that the NEET re-test paper had been leaked again started circulating on social media. Around the same time, several candidates reported technical issues while trying to download their fresh admit cards from the official portal.
PIB Calls Viral NEET Paper Leak Claim Fake
A screenshot allegedly showing a NEET question paper was widely shared on Telegram and X. The image created panic among many students, as it claimed that the question paper for the upcoming re-exam had been leaked.
However, PIB Fact Check rejected the claim and called it fake. The agency advised candidates not to trust, share, or depend on any unverified exam-related content circulating online.
Officials have asked students to follow only the official NTA and NEET websites for authentic information. They also warned that fake screenshots and social media rumours can create unnecessary fear before the examination.
Admit Card Download Glitches Reported
Apart from the fake leak claim, many candidates also faced problems while downloading their NEET UG 2026 re-exam admit cards. Some students said the website showed blank screens, slow-loading pages, or maintenance messages.
The issue was mainly reported during the bank account verification process. Candidates are required to verify bank details for the fee refund process before downloading the admit card.
NTA has said that the technical issues are being addressed. The agency also informed that nearly 4 lakh candidates had already downloaded their admit cards successfully.
Fresh Admit Card Required For Re-Exam
Candidates appearing for the June 21 re-exam must download the fresh admit card released for the re-test. The admit card issued for the earlier exam will not be valid for the new examination date.
Students should carefully check details such as name, roll number, exam centre, reporting time and exam-day instructions. A printed copy of the admit card must be carried to the exam centre.
June 21 Re-Test Under Stronger Security
The NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be conducted on June 21 in offline pen-and-paper mode. The test is scheduled from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
Authorities have said that stronger monitoring and coordination measures are being put in place for the re-examination. The Centre, state authorities, district officials, and exam centres are expected to work together to ensure a smooth and secure test.
The re-exam is being held after the earlier NEET UG exam was cancelled following paper leak concerns. Because of this, the upcoming test is being closely watched by students, parents, and officials.
Students Advised To Avoid Rumours
With only a few days left for the examination, candidates have been advised to stay calm and avoid unverified updates. Any claim related to paper leaks, admit cards, or exam centres should be checked only through official sources.
Students should not forward Telegram screenshots, unofficial notices, or social media posts without verification. Sharing fake content can increase anxiety among aspirants who are already under pressure.
The latest developments show that while the viral paper leak claim has been dismissed as fake, admit card download glitches remain a real concern for some students. NTA’s assurance that the issue is being fixed will be important as candidates prepare for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam on June 21.
