US-Iran Peace Talks Face Bushehr Aircraft Claim Tension
Bushehr Claim Tests Ceasefire Push
US-Iran peace efforts are facing fresh uncertainty after Washington rejected Iranian media claims that a hostile aircraft was shot down near Bushehr province. Iranian state television had reported that air defence systems intercepted an aircraft in the Jam area. Still, a US official denied that any American aircraft had been destroyed near the region. US Central Command also rejected the claim, adding another layer of tension to an already fragile situation.
Peace Framework Still Awaits Trump Approval
The development comes as the United States and Iran have reportedly reached a preliminary framework to extend the ceasefire and reopen nuclear talks. The proposed 60-day understanding is said to include discussions on Iran’s nuclear commitments, enriched uranium stockpile, sanctions relief, humanitarian aid, and safer shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. However, the plan is still awaiting final approval from US President Donald Trump. The reported deal could become a major diplomatic breakthrough, but recent drone activity, vessel tensions, and fresh US sanctions on Iran’s oil trade show that the ceasefire remains under serious pressure.
