Sivakarthikeyan has announced a focus on full-fledged mass entertainers, sharing updates on Seyon and SK27 at a Chennai fan meeting. He outlined the films’ shooting progress and commercial appeal while urging fans to prioritise their education, careers and families.
Sivakarthikeyan commits to mass entertainers
Addressing fans and fan-club administrators in Chennai on Sunday, Sivakarthikeyan said his future films would focus on mass entertainment. He added that Seyon director Sivakumar Murugesan and SK27 director Ramkumar Balakrishnan had assured him that both projects would deliver what his audience expects. Presenting this as the filmmakers’ confidence rather than his personal promise, the actor indicated that action and entertainment would shape his upcoming screen outings.
Seyon is 60 per cent complete
Sivakarthikeyan revealed that approximately 60 per cent of Seyon has been completed, including songs and several other portions. A few major action sequences remain to be filmed. Set against a rural backdrop, the film marks Sivakumar Murugesan’s second feature after Thaai Kizhavi and is backed by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International. Its cast includes Raj B Shetty, Bhagyashri Borse, Seeman, Bala Saravanan, Arul Doss and Singampuli. Previously indicated as targeting Pongal 2027, Seyon introduced the actor’s rugged, rustic look with the tagline “Veeram undu Vetri undu”, reinforcing its mass appeal.
SK27 opens with action and a song
The first schedule of SK27, Sivakarthikeyan’s first collaboration with Parking director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, is underway. The actor said an opening fight sequence had been filmed and the team was shooting an opening song. He attended the fan gathering after working until 6 am. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the project features Kayadu Lohar as the female lead and began filming in September. Previously associated with Venkat Prabhu before Ramkumar took over, SK27 is keeping its storyline under wraps, although these shooting updates point to a strong commercial approach.
A people-made star’s message to fans
At the same meeting, Sivakarthikeyan credited audiences for his rise, describing himself as a “people-made star”. He encouraged supporters to study well, earn well and put their families first, while avoiding excessive involvement in criticism and social media. Having worked across comedy, action, drama and serious subjects, the actor now appears ready to place mass entertainment at the centre of his next phase.
