Vijay Deverakonda and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga are reportedly preparing a special theatrical re-release of Arjun Reddy with additional footage to celebrate the film’s 10th anniversary in 2027. Producer Pranay Reddy Vanga has confirmed that plans for the anniversary presentation are underway.
Arjun Reddy Prepares for a Theatrical Comeback
Released in 2017, Arjun Reddy emerged as a cult blockbuster and became one of the most discussed Telugu films of its generation. Its unconventional storytelling, emotionally volatile protagonist and bold treatment of romance generated both appreciation and criticism. Despite the divided reactions, the film achieved major commercial success and left a lasting influence on contemporary Telugu cinema. Nearly a decade later, the makers are now planning to bring it back to theatres as part of its milestone anniversary celebrations.
The re-release is expected to feature additional footage that was not included in the original theatrical version. However, the amount of new material, its runtime and the exact release date have not yet been announced. Pranay Reddy Vanga, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s brother and a producer associated with his upcoming projects, confirmed that the team intends to commemorate the film’s tenth year in a special way.
A Career-Defining Film for Vijay and Sandeep
Arjun Reddy proved to be a turning point for both Vijay Deverakonda and Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Vijay’s intense performance elevated him to wider stardom and established his image as an actor willing to take on unconventional characters. The film also introduced Sandeep as a distinctive filmmaker with a bold narrative voice.
Although Vijay and Sandeep are not expected to reunite for a new movie in the immediate future, the planned anniversary re-release will bring their landmark collaboration back into focus. The prospect of previously unseen footage is likely to generate strong interest among fans who continue to celebrate the film and its memorable characters.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga Focused on Spirit
Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently directing Spirit, starring Prabhas in the lead role. According to Pranay Reddy Vanga, approximately 40 percent of the film has been completed, with Prabhas having participated in nearly 40 days of filming. The production team is now concentrating on completing the remaining portions of the project.
After Spirit, Sandeep is expected to move on to Animal Park, featuring Ranbir Kapoor. With these major commitments occupying his schedule, an immediate new collaboration with Vijay appears unlikely.
Anniversary Plans Await Further Details
The return of Arjun Reddy gives audiences an opportunity to revisit the film on the big screen while discovering additional scenes from its original production. More information regarding the restored footage, theatrical locations and official anniversary release date is expected to be announced closer to the planned 2027 celebration.
