The film is described as the origin story of an assassin who is raised and trained to kill. Bobby said he had the best time shooting for the project and found it exciting that Indian cinema is making a large-scale action film featuring two women in powerful roles. According to him, Alpha feels new, refreshing and visually different for theatre audiences.

Bobby Deol also praised Alia Bhatt for her hard work and preparation. He said Alia is one of the most hardworking and sincere actors he has worked with. He added that action is difficult to perform convincingly, but Alia gave her full effort and looked committed to every scene. Bobby also said he had always wanted to work with both Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, and after doing Animal with Ranbir, he finally worked with Alia in Alpha.
