CM Vijay’s 52nd Birthday Draws Wishes From PM Modi, Tamil Nadu Leaders

CM Vijay’s 52nd Birthday Highlights New Political Chapter In Tamil Nadu

Chennai, June 22, 2026: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay marked his 52nd birthday on Monday, making it his first birthday after taking charge of the state government in May. The birthday greetings also highlighted Vijay’s sudden rise from cinema icon to one of Tamil Nadu’s most-watched political figures.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Chief Ministers M.K. Stalin and Edappadi K. Palaniswami, BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan, and several other leaders extended wishes to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder.

PM Modi And State Leaders Wish Vijay

Prime Minister Modi greeted Vijay through a message on X and wished the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister a long and healthy life. His message drew attention as Vijay’s first birthday as Chief Minister comes at a time when Tamil Nadu politics is witnessing a new phase.

DMK president M.K. Stalin also extended birthday wishes to Vijay and wished him strength to continue serving the people. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami greeted the Chief Minister and wished him continued success in public life.

BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran shared his greetings along with a photograph of Vijay. Kamal Haasan also joined leaders from different political and public circles in wishing the Chief Minister.

Birthday Greetings Gain Political Attention

The birthday wishes were not just personal greetings, as they came shortly after Vijay’s major political breakthrough in Tamil Nadu. After building a massive following in cinema, Vijay entered active politics through Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and quickly became a key figure in the state.

Rahul Gandhi also extended greetings to Vijay and wished him success in his efforts. Several TVK leaders, ministers, and party cadres marked the day with messages on social media.

TMC (Moopanar) founder G.K. Vasan said Vijay had brought a visible change in Tamil Nadu politics and wished him success in delivering governance that reflects the expectations of the people.

TVK’s Rise Changes Tamil Nadu Politics

Vijay’s birthday comes after a major shift in the state’s political scene. In the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly, TVK won 107 seats and emerged as a strong political force.

Although the party did not cross the simple majority mark of 118, Vijay formed a coalition government with the support of Congress, Left parties, VCK, and IUML. The development marked an important moment in Tamil Nadu politics, where Dravidian parties had dominated for decades.

Since assuming office in May, Vijay’s leadership has been closely watched by both supporters and political rivals. His government’s early decisions, coalition management, and public messaging are expected to shape the next phase of state politics.

From Film Star To Chief Minister

Chandrasekar Joseph Vijay was born on June 22, 1974, to filmmaker S.A. Chandrasekar and Shoba. Before entering full-time politics, he became one of Tamil cinema’s most popular actors with a strong fan base across Tamil Nadu and beyond.

His transition from cinema to politics was followed closely by fans, political observers, and rival parties. After launching TVK, Vijay positioned the party as a people-focused alternative and used his public appeal to expand its reach across the state.

His 52nd birthday has therefore become more than a personal celebration. It reflects the larger political attention around Vijay’s leadership, his coalition government, and the expectations surrounding his role as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

As wishes poured in from leaders across party lines, Vijay’s first birthday as Chief Minister underlined both his popularity and the new political space he has created in Tamil Nadu.
