Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh: A viral clip of YS Jagan’s APPSC-DSC remarks has triggered a fresh political clash with Education Minister Nara Lokesh.

The political fight over Andhra Pradesh recruitment intensified after a video clip of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy became a fresh flashpoint between the YSR Congress Party and the ruling TDP. During a press interaction on the Mega DSC controversy, Jagan appeared to use APPSC and DSC interchangeably while comparing recruitment processes under the previous and current governments.

Education Minister Nara Lokesh seized on the clip and mocked Jagan on social media, arguing that the former Chief Minister could not distinguish between APPSC and DSC. The video circulated online, turning a wider dispute over recruitment transparency into a personal political clash.

Jagan has been pressing the coalition government over alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC 2025 teacher recruitment process. At his August 20 press conference in Tadepalli, he demanded a CBI investigation and challenged Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh to accept an independent probe. He also said his party was prepared for scrutiny of the APPSC Group-I recruitment conducted during the YSRCP period.

YSRCP has raised allegations involving the DSC process, including questions about paper handling, sports-quota selections and transparency. The state government and TDP leaders have rejected allegations of a systemic scam and defended the recruitment exercise.

The controversy shifted after Lokesh posted a clip from Jagan’s remarks and accused him of treating APPSC and DSC as the same. APPSC is the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, which handles recruitment for various state services, while DSC is associated with teacher recruitment in the state. Lokesh used the clip to attack Jagan’s record on recruitment and renewed his challenge for a debate in the Assembly. His remarks added a sharper political edge to the dispute between TDP and YSRCP.

The viral clip does not resolve the larger dispute. Jagan’s central argument remains that both the APPSC Group-I process and Mega DSC should face independent scrutiny, while Lokesh and the TDP are using the apparent verbal mix-up to question Jagan’s understanding of the recruitment system. Reports on August 20 and 21 show Jagan challenging the government to order probes into both matters, while Lokesh responded by highlighting Jagan’s APPSC-DSC references.

The episode has moved beyond an examination-policy debate and into the political messaging battle between YSRCP and TDP. Lokesh supporters are circulating the clip to ridicule Jagan, while YSRCP continues to focus on its demand for a CBI probe into Mega DSC. With recruitment issues becoming a major point of confrontation in Andhra Pradesh politics, the latest exchange is likely to keep attention on both the allegations and the rivalry between Jagan and Lokesh.
