YouTuber Raavan arrested again in Andhra UAPA case

YouTuber Raavan arrested for fifth time in six days

YouTuber Raavan has been arrested for the fifth time in just six days, extending a series of legal actions linked to his alleged remarks against Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The latest arrest came shortly after he secured bail in another case, keeping the controversy in the spotlight.

Fresh arrest after securing bail

According to police, Raavan had recently obtained bail in a case registered by the Payakaraopeta Police. However, while passing through the Vempadu toll gate, he was taken into custody once again.

In the latest development, police booked him under Sections 13 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Officials have yet to release a detailed statement explaining the basis for invoking these provisions, while the investigation remains ongoing.

Series of arrests across Andhra Pradesh

The legal proceedings began on June 30 when Raavan was first arrested by the Pithapuram Police. After receiving bail from a magistrate, he was immediately detained by the Sarpavaram Police in connection with another case.

The pattern continued as he secured bail and was subsequently arrested by the Inaguduru Police. Following another release, the Payakaraopeta Police took him into custody, leading to the latest UAPA case.

Political reactions intensify

The repeated arrests have sparked a political confrontation in Andhra Pradesh. The opposition YSR Congress Party accused the ruling coalition of selectively targeting the YouTuber and questioned the government's priorities.

The party also referred to the Sugali Preethi case, alleging that similar efforts should have been made to ensure justice in that matter. It further claimed the repeated arrests reflected political motives rather than impartial law enforcement.

Investigation continues

The Andhra Pradesh Police have not issued a detailed explanation regarding the latest UAPA charges. As the investigation progresses, the case is expected to remain at the centre of political debate, with both legal and political developments likely in the coming days.
