Mamata Banerjee Attacks BJP Over Hawker Eviction And Abhishek Notice Row
Mamata Banerjee Questions BJP Over Eviction Row
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has sharpened her attack on the BJP, accusing the new West Bengal government of targeting minority communities and roadside hawkers. Speaking at a meeting of TMC MLAs, Mamata claimed that hawker stalls were being bulldozed and said such actions were against constitutional values. She also said the BJP would be removed from power in Delhi in the coming days.
The remarks come amid rising tension between the TMC and BJP after post-poll action in different parts of Bengal. Mamata’s statement also focused on what the party calls “bulldozer culture,” a phrase now being used by TMC to oppose forced eviction drives. Reports also noted her criticism of demolition-led governance and its impact on daily wage workers and small traders.
Abhishek Banerjee Reacts To KMC Notice
TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee also responded to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation notice over alleged unauthorised construction linked to his south Kolkata residence. He said he would not bow down to pressure and that his fight against the BJP would continue. TMC has planned protests near Ballygunge, Howrah Junction and Sealdah railway station against hawker eviction and bulldozer action
